Microsoft and Samsung have announced the integration of Microsoft Copilot on Samsung TVs and monitors,thisĀ  brings conversational AI directly to the biggest screens in the home. The partnership aims to enhance entertainment, everyday tasks, and information discovery through a voice-powered interface and visual companion. According to Samsung Electronics, the feature will debut on the 2025 lineup of Samsung TVs and Smart Monitors, including Micro RGB, Neo QLED, OLED, The Frame Pro, The Frame, and M7, M8, and M9 Smart Monitors. The companies confirmed that the experience will be available at no cost, with regional availability expanding over time.

Samsung Screens gets Smarter with Microsoft Copilot

According to Samsung, the adoption of Microsoft Copilot on its Samsung TVs and monitors is part of a wider AI initiative the company has, which also encompasses Samsung Vision AI updates and its ecosystem, Tizen OS. When joined together, the company claimed that it is fulfilling a more connected and intelligent viewing experience, extending beyond the use of the traditional TV functions. Executive Vice President of the Customer Experience Team at Samsung, Kevin Lee explained that the integration establishes a new level of AI-powered screens.

He observed that Copilot enables users to navigate tailored information and content using natural voice commands, so it is easy to learn, discover or plan directly on the TV. Microsoft shared this sentiment as it stressed the social and collaborative element of the feature. David Washington, the Partner General Manager at Microsoft AI, claimed that Copilot on Samsung TVs makes the TV a common digital friend. It allows families and groups to discover what to watch, or answer questions, or plan; however, all mingling like they do in their living rooms according to Washington.

Voice Commands Meet Visual Companions

The companies affirmed that Microsoft Copilot on Samsung televisions and monitors comes with a combination of chatty voice artificial intelligence and a cute animated figure displayed on the screen. The character also responds in real time, lip-synchronously and with expressions to fit the tone of the conversation, which makes the interaction more personal. Copilot does not simply voice respond when responding. Rather, the outcome in the form of visual cards that are optimized to be shown on a large screen with rating, pictures, and contextual information.

As an example, a user is able to view movie recommendations with images and ratings or weather reports with transparent images. The integration is made such that it is simple to turn on. Copilot will be automatically rolled out to Samsung compatible devices.
