This special variant of the search engine will automatically turn on the image filtering option, turn off the generation of AI-written summaries, and will eliminate Duck.ai chat interface pictograms. All chat data is stored locally on the device and is not uploaded to external servers.
DuckDuckGo provides granular control over AI answers in search results. In the settings menu, users can set the visibility of AI responses to “Never,” “On-Demand,” “Sometimes (default),” or “Often.” According to the company, enabling the “Often” option will show AI-powered responses in over 20 percent of searches.Unlike some competitors, DuckDuckGo keeps these tools optional.
